Much has been made of the rise of AI marketing tools. But in some ways, we've seen this movie before, almost quite literally.

I was a video producer in 2016 when many online publishers felt it appropriate to, almost overnight, pivot their content strategy towards video. The so-called "pivot-to-video" provides the backdrop for my free eBook "Authentic: Marketing to Humans in the Age of AI."

Most marketers aren't viewing AI marketing tools as a panacea to their decaying marketing strategy, but they are pivoting to them in a similar fashion to what marketers did by turning to video in 2016.

A common theme is starting to emerge: many marketers are inadvertently using AI to market to other AI, instead of, well, people. In a chase to scale personalization, they are coming across as inauthentic and aren't connecting with anyone human.

How do marketers effectively adopt tools that accelerate human activity without decelerating human interaction? In my below guide, I offer an "A.U.T.H.E.N.T.I.C" model to follow.
